By default, wikis you have created or for which you serve as an administrator will send you you an email every time the wiki is updated. Depending on the nature of the site, this can serve as a useful tool or an irritation! On the other hand, as a member of a wiki, you may wish to follow a particular page or set of pages for your class. This page contains information that help you to customize such preferences.
All options concerning the "watching" feature can be found by clicking on the "Watching" tab of the navigation bar at the top of your account page. You can access your account my clicking "my account" in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, or by directing your browser to the following link: https://www.wikidot.com/account:you.
From this page, you can enable or disable various watching options as seen below.
You can also set unique preferences for each individual wiki to which you belong by selecting clicking "unwatch" or "watch" next to each site. Underneath this list, you have the option to unwatch or watch all the sites enumerated above.
You can watch an entire wiki, or individual pages or categories within it. You will also find tabs for pages and categories on your account page.
If you are interested in keeping tabs on a single page, scroll to the bottom of that page and click on the link reading "start watching this page." Alternately, if you wish to stop watching a page, you can click "stop watching this page."
You can also change these settings from the "pages" tab of your account page as discussed above.
Additionally, any emails you do receive as a result of your watching preferences will give you the opportunity to "stop these emails" by clicking on a link provided at the bottom of the message. Clicking on this link will bring you to a page where you can unsubscribe from all email notifications. This is the only option presented here; all others are accessible only from your accounts page.
